The Palmetto Modern Quilt Guild supports various charities throughout the year by donating completed quilts for comfort, support of mission, or fundraising. Charities for 2026 along with their requirements, are listed below:
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, to support children in crisis
No size requirement
St. Lawrence Place, to supply bedding for children and families in crisis
Size should be a minimum of twin
Nursing Home Lap Quilts, to comfort
Lap quilts should be 30″ to 36″ wide in one dimension to fit a wheelchair.
Other charitable causes may be supported at the discretion of the membership. Requests can be made at any Guild Meeting.
For Guild Members
Guild members can earn points for their charity submissions to win end of year prizes.
Point Breakdown
1 Point = Piecing
2 Points = Quilting
1 Point = Binding
One prize will go to the quilter with the most overall points, two additional prizes will be awarded from a raffle of all eligible points.
